Ray Mabus: No More Riflemen in the USMC

Mabus MemoRay Mabus, a career politician whose entire life and every action signals contempt for the United States Marine Corps, is hitting the Corps where it lives: there will no longer be any Riflemen in the Corps. Oh, sure, there’ll still be 0311s and the other Infantry MOSes, but the Corps is going full-retard-gender-neutral. So they’re going to be Riflepersons, Infantrypersons, or maybe Rifle Operators. Rifle-ists? Small-Caliber Projectile Launch Technicians? You’re welcome to enter your best guess in the comments, but whatever he’s gonna be after (fittingly enough), April Fool’s Day, it isn’t going to be a Rifleman. Or Infantryman. Or Recon Man.

This is an opportunity to update the position titles and descriptions themselves to demonstrate through this language that women are included in these MOSs. Please review the position titles throughout the Marine Corps and ensure that they are gender-integrated as well, removing”man” from their titles and provide a report to me as soon as practicable and no later than April 1, 2016…

Put some windings and brushes on him, and Chesty Puller spinning in his grave would be a dependable source of non-fossil-fuel energy. (Well, Chesty’s been dead long enough maybe he is a fossil now, which would make him fossil fuel and therefore haram in what Mabus has in place of a religion).

Congrats, if you’re a Marine Recon Man. You went to the last hard Indoc. It’s official now.

In the memo, which we’ll attach here: (SecNav.pdf), Wesley Mouch Ray Mabus (pardon the error, we got our weasels crossed) makes it clear he wants name, rank and serial number of any looters and wreckers who fight the E Ring on this:

In the submitted Marine Corps Implementation Integration Plan, the Marine Corps highlights the Commander’s Critical Information Requirements: (1) indications of decreased combat readiness or effectiveness; (2) indications of an increased risk to Marines in previously closed units, to include risk of sexual assault and/or sexual harassment and hazing; (3) indications of a lack of career viability for female Marines in ground combat arms MOSs or units; (4) indications that Marine Corps command climates and/or culture is unreceptive to qualified female Marines in ground combat arms units and MLSs; (5) indications that morale and/or cohesion is degraded in integrated ground combat arms units; and provided expansion of these indications and their respective measures of effectiveness in the Assessment Plan Synchronization Matrix.

Notice what’s missing: he doesn’t want to hear about poor performance, the sort that used to get women officers flunked out of infantry officer school. He doesn’t want to hear about UCMJ problems, he doesn’t want to hear about fraternization, injuries, deployment rates… he absolutely, positively does not want to hear about how the women are doing relative to the men who were doing it before. He only wants to hear about the wreckers and looters standing athwart Progress, hindering our pilgrimage to the bright sunlit uplands where Vibrancy is Our Diversity.

Hey, the Marines have been on pilgrimages like this before, one in the Philippines for example, and that long last walk to the beach on Wake Island in ’43.

Also, what do you think Mabus will do with information like that, based on our experience with him already? Adjust his plan to fit the data,? Or conduct a few ritual executions of “defeatists” who weren’t sufficiently “with the program” to bend their data to please him?

Nothing personal, Admiral Byng, just pour encourager les autres.

And it’s his highest priority:

I commend you for prioritizing this implementation and requiring quarterly leadership updates at your monthly Executive Off-Sites. Please provide a copy of these quarterly updates to me on a regular basis.

Big Brother Sister Sibling is watching you.

Because, Valor Medals Deserve Quotas Too…

in a related venture, the services are reviewing well over 1,000 awards for possible upgrade to the Medal of Honor, including all Army DSCs and Silver Stars. (So far what’s left of a Marine Corps has opted out). The cover story is that this is an initiative of Ash Carter’s to recognize overlooked valor; in fact, it stems from the President’s desire to see more MoH awards to minority service members, and particularly to award a Medal of Honor to at least one woman and at least one gay soldier (and maybe a bonus gay woman!) before the President is term-limited out of office. The bar will be lowered to meet the available women and gays, and a few ordinary guys will also see upgrades — the better to camouflage the political intent of the awards review.

In the spirit of the thing, we may see the first ever upgrade of an Army Commendation Medal with “V” device to the MOH. Because valor awards, too, are something the Ray Mabuses of the world, who can’t see past skin color, think are just one more Federal benefit that ought to be “fairly” distributed on a racial quota spoils system.

When We’re Handing Out Gongs, Don’t Forget Combat Playstation

Additionally, drone operators based Stateside will finally get the combat awards they’ve long whinged about not having, but will have to wear an “R” device (for “remote,” as in, “their duty is remotely related to military service.” Serving and retired service members, particularly the ones that have earned the rewards that will now be basic issue, see this as a dilution of the value of the awards, but Carter, Mabus and the generals and admirals that serve them are Participation Trophy Tee Ball guys, and to them the only thing important is the trophy, not the game.

Being military types themselves, they don’t understand the trophies and baubles are only as coveted as they are, because of the risks that were taken and blood that was shed by those that have earned them before. An E-Ring full of people who, asked to name a “hero,” would likely come up with Bruce Jenner or some other random celebrity, is unlikely to “get” combat valor.

The Navy, and more particularly the Marine Corps, has now been given the Party Line. Deviate from it at your own peril! Do you think there’s a Sophie Scholl remaining in there somewhere? Or has any such independent thinker already been purged?

I just want to know when they are going to change the Selective Service registration requirements to include women?

If they are eligible for the job on a voluntary basis, they are eligible on a involuntary basis. We’re all equal right?

I read an interesing article just last night. Timely, pithy, and a little depressing. It’s even OT, since it addresses labels and reality.

Funny, I’ve made his same point about the unintended consequences of revolutions before.

As far as his condemnation of Oathkeepers is concerned, yes, there are probably more blowhards than actual resisters involved. If I were an SJW leader of a police or investigative agency, I wouldn’t sweat any of them in my ranks… they’ll make noises, but just like the good German cops in the 1930s, they’ll round up whom they’re told to round up and shoot whom they’re told to shoot. (The notorious Einsatzgruppen were formed from police, and while it wasn’t a volunteer unit, anyone troubled by what they did could opt out and the Reich would find him another job — not a punitive one, either. Of the tens of thousands of beat cops from the Orpo assigned to Einsatzgruppen, a single-digit number took the opt-out. I think American cops would do the same thing. It’s the ability to rationalize).

A lot depends on what the mass of folks does; cops, like anyone else, are mostly followers, and are more likely to do dumb $#!+ when in a group. During the heyday of the since-abandoned Canadian long gun registry, Canadian cops, who are much like American cops but perhaps more likely to work in rural areas alone, got remarkably incurious about long guns they ran across, even though they knew it was the easiest collar in Canadian history. On the other hand, the Mounties, working in groups, gleefully trashed buildings and even gun safes to round up registered guns when a bad storm in western Canada forced an evacuation… and as a result, they’re complaining that they lost respect in that community and region.

      Well, D2S2, gentlemen.

      1. Haxo Angmark

you’re talking about the Ordnungspolizei, recruited from ordinary civil police. Einsatzgruppe personnel were c. 20% SS/SD. The rest of the trigger-pullers were native recruits: Balts, White Russians, Ukrainians. Generally the latter came from families with members previously deported and killed by the communists. Hence, they had no problem killing Jews

      2. Boat Guy

I’m hopefull that there are actual differences between “Americans” and others. Yes at some base level “people are all the same”, but having lived a while now and traveled 3/4s of the earth I still have some faith in the uniqueness of those people who identify with the Founders and their principles. No, no a majority but we often hear (read) that those who took up arms against the Crown were not a majority either.

        1. Cap'n Mike

          I also feel this way.
History shows that the military and police usually end up being a tool of oppression.
Hopefully American exceptionalism is a real thing.

      3. Pericles

I consider the difference as the soldier sees himself as the representative of the armed will of the citizenry. A policeman has already gone to the mental state of willing to arrest / apply force / kill fellow citizens as a part of the job.

  3. Boat Guy

Bizarre. THIS is the sort of thing occupying DoD “Senior Management”. Yet one more outrage is a continuing series.
Least your site isn’t gonna be “WeaponsPerson”

      1. Boat Guy

The troubling thought is that so much of our surroundings are already parody; will we be able to tell the difference come spring?

  4. BAP45

If only there was a reply back of just “nuts”. Probably be career suicide but damn if it wouldn’t nice.

Curious when do they start handing out little red books?

I’m not being a smart ass. You got to wonder where this kind of cultural marxism eventually ends up. After all it is essentially control and accumulation of power by another name. I’m not saying it is some sinister plan, but it sure smells like something is rotten in Denmark. After a while you can kind of see a pattern to all this social engineering, in particular with these SJW it is always the same thing, anything justifies moving away from individualism, valor, enterprise, self determination, free will, exceptional actions on ones part etc. Everything must be homogenized into this nasty dog feces brown, like that color of paint when you mix together whats left of every can in your basement.
The kind of mind that espouses the glorious nature of the collective, and believes it is their destiny to impose that vision on everyone mathematically evenly has truly got something inherently, and dangerously wrong with it.

The Praetorian Guard was a special force of household troops used by Roman Emperors. Augustus saw the need to establish a body of soldiers explicitly loyal to himself. Following the death of Sejanus the Guards began to play an increasingly ambitious and bloody game in the Empire. With the right amount of money, or at will, they assassinated emperors, bullied their own Prefects, or turned on the people of Rome. In 41 Caligula was killed by conspirators from the senatorial class and from the Guard. The Praetorians placed Claudius on the throne, daring the Senate to oppose their decision.

“… In 1925 Adolf Hitler formed his own personal bodyguard called the Schutzstaffel (SS). The SS was a major Nazi organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. The SS grew from a small paramilitary unit to an elite, powerful, force that served as the Fuhrer’s “Praetorian Guard’ the Nazi Party’s “Shield Squadron” and a force with as much political influence as the regular German Armed Forces. Built upon the Nazi racial ideology, the SS, under Heinrich Himmler’s command, is said to be primarily responsible for many of the war crimes perpetrated by the Nazis during World War Two.
From-All Dictators Need Their Own Police Force
    Obama’s “Civilian National Security Force”…”
    -from http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/47844

From perspective of distance everything with these cultural marxist involves guns somehow. They are obsessed with guns underneath the veneer of their social justice war. In almost everything they assault, somewhere guns have something to do with it and seem to be the underlying basis of motivation for control, and that something involves diminishing the free, or exceptional, or individual use, thinking, and natural culture of guns by free individuals and a free society.
Think about it, this is a “huuuge” country, what, there are probably more guns in the hands of every day civilians than in the hands of every solder of every military of every country on earth combined? Or something near the numbers. No one is running around trying to overthrow their government by armed coup. Not even close. (not yet anyways, but we all know that is a different story).
Yet here is this tiny percentage of mandarin’s and cultural radicals, some really crooked political corruptocrats, couple of demo-gods, a few truly psychopathic narcissists, a bunch of red diaper babies, of what a few thousand in numbers at best, and they are completely utterly obsessed with the populous owning guns. Mmmm?

Right now the present regime has much in common with the cultural revolution of the red China of the last century. Slogans, social engineering, purges, pogrom, group think, you name it, all but the genocide, (well genocide of the unborn). So what I keep watching for is whats next. And I think well history is circular, and in this case those who ignore the past end up taking the dirt nap first. So what is the collar ally here for me is the Dear Leader and his axiom which certainly proved its worth if your going to control the worlds largest population and liquidate by the literal millions anyone who could stand in your way:

“Every Communist must grasp the truth, “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.” “Our principle is that the Party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party.”
    – Mao Tse-tung

I’m thinking Ray’s wife/girlfriend got railed by a Jarhead and never forgot the life changing experience that it was. She there after determined that Ray wasn’t man enough for her.
He’s held a grudge ever since.

  7. Alan Ward

I think someone should direct Ray to the Declaration that states that ” all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator…” In which case Men refers to all people so that a RifleMan would refer to a person carrying a rifle. A change of letter from ordinal to Capital would be so much easier while really showing that all genders are equal.

      1. Paul Rain

Of course, everything that was known before 1968 must to be wrong. Just because common sense ideas and customs had worked and allowed civilization to function right for hundreds of years (before the ‘chart forgers’ in the media started screwing it all up and landing society on the rocks) doesn’t mean that those ideas and customs were right.

  8. W. Fleetwood

Dang it anyway. Why is there never a Fatwa Against Blasphemy around when you really, actually, need one?

    Wafa Wafa, Wasara Wasara.

  9. Aesop

If I ever meet Mabus, I won’t be responsible for my actions.
But that the entire USMC, particularly the officers, roll over for this for their despicable careers rather than resign en masse, makes them deserving of the utter contempt of every real Marine who preceded them, in perpetuity.

May as well change the blood stripes to pink, you pussies.

  10. Jjak

Let us focus on getting every person a rifle, here, there, and everywhere. Then we will all be called Citizens and not subjects.

As for drone medals, better to establish something sooner than later. So many of those things are going to be around that it’s best to give their operators some recognition that is appropriately indexed below that of the man at the front. A recognition of technical skill and not valor. YMMV.

  11. ToastieTheCoastie

I’m sure it is obvious, but all of this stuff is first and foremost about demoralizing virile men.

  12. Tom Kratman

It won’t stay up long, but this is a current part of his entry on Wiki. No, I didn’t write it.

“On January 1st, 2016, Mabus ordered the United States Marine Corps to devise a plan on co-integration of male and female recruits in basic training. Giving top brass a two week planning period, along with requesting a subject matter expert, to report the best method of said plan.[26] This plan will single-handedly make Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus the most politically-correct, and militarily inept human being in the history of the United States, as well as destroying military cohesiveness and professionalism in the name of a socially progressive (nurture over nature) political agenda.”

    1. Hognose Post author

It’s pretty clunky prose. It definitely wasn’t you. Unless you’re trying to throw the hounds off your scent.

  13. Stacy0311

So it appears that Governor William J. Lepottomane has given up his title as “Leading Asshole in the State” to Ray Mabus

  14. Colonel of Infantry

Glad I’m retiring as I’m sure the Army will follow as many senior Army officers secretly wish we were like the Marines (they do have better looking uniforms and anthem) I refuse to be recognised as or to ever refer to an infantryman as an “Infantier” or some other gender-normed abortion of an MOS description.

  15. Kerry

Serious Catholic here. We thinks Mr. Ray has no idea about the last four things, Death, Judgement, Heaven and Hell. To the extent that he and all his herd of swine, are material relativists, there are no supernatural realities, no fixed Truth. (Truth is a Person, Domine Nostri Jesu Christi. ) Their only absolute truth is that there is no absolute truth, conscience is just an opinion, and everyone decides for himself what is true. Barack, I think, wants power and adulation; he also likes to hurt people. So they go about tinkering with language to make reality conform with their ideology. Sex, male or female, has become gender. Engaging in sexual relations is ‘having sex’. They, as Pharisees, have superior caring skills, and stand upstream scornful of any man who says, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me”, or any man who says, “Courage, honor, devotion, duty.”

    BTW, what is D2S2?

Oops. What is D2 S2? Thanks.

A staff judge advocate hung signs with that all over Bagram, K2 (Karshi-Khanabad, the old Soviet era Khanabad Air Base in uand Kandahar when 20th Group had CJSOTF (Coalition Joint Special Ops Task Force) Afghanistan. When they rotated out, the new guys (3rd) took down the signs, because their SJA said, they were active duty soldiers, and therefore never did stupid $#!+.

Those of us in 20th who had spent considerable time as active duty soldiers (i.e., most of us) were extremely bemused by that statement.

  16. Kerry

Oh, and just for Mabus and pals, below “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here” should be added , “At this point, what difference does it make?” Heh.

  17. Buckaroo

I come from a family with a long tradition of military service. Every once in a while I regret that I never served, but then I read something like this, and come back to my senses.

    1. Hognose Post author

It’s pretty ate up. We just had a guard SF guy killed and several others wounded on a combat mission in Afghanistan. One of the most craven and cowardly things I’ve ever seen, not excepting a Taliban spy who pissed himself when I was interviewing him, was the dodging, weaving, quibbling and lying by several colonels and GOs who refused to call it combat or a combat mission, because the Emperor’s New Clothes were that there was no combat in Afghanistan.

I dunno, just a lot of “workplace violence,” I guess.

I probably shouldn’t have been surprised by these men — for fifty years, we have been promoting the self-serving who live to suck up and $#!+ down — we’ve trained it into the system in the same way anyone who was a GI always steps off first on his left foot for the rest of his natural life. But I was surprises, and shocked, and disillusioned (not that I have many illusions left, these days) by their contempt for these fallen men. I am ashamed to have a closet full of US Army uniforms, if those stars and eagles are what the Army is all about.

Typical Prog, it looks good, feels good and levels the playing field But, in reality nothing changes.
In the future as in the past your most common Rifle Operator will be a man.

Next up, taking man out of Human.
    Huperson? Huoperator?
And while we are at it, Homo Sapiens, the term Homo is slanderous and refers to man and should be changed.
Once started it can never just end.

  19. Ensign Pulverizer

I hope that in the future that the eventual USS Mabus Littoral Pea-Shooter-type-ship “accidently” plows into the USS Jimmy Carter submarine right in the middle of San Francisco Bay and causes a huge oil spill.

    Our conquerers will tell him.

  21. styrgwillidar

My response would be based on the English language which often uses ‘man’ in a word to indicate all huMAN beings.

Sir, Rifleman is already gender neutral, no change is required.

  22. PBeck

It sure is a good thing that the US is now officially out of the war-winning, globo-cop business, or this (plus all of the rest) might have the potential to seriously undermine military readiness.

Now the DOD can finally buckle down and focus on it’s core mission, as a social welfare jobs program for urban un-wed mothers, and as world-wide pizza delivery service. And as we feel the furtive fingers grease us up, just remember as they bend us over to relax and think of England. It’s all for the the “Greater Good”. /s

We are soooo going to get our asses kicked.
I never thought anything would ever make me feel nostalgic for the Carter administration.

Why, it’s almost enough to make a guy consider just giving up and buying that new place in Dubai.

    Oh, wait…
